Corbett McDowell Moore

Corbett McDowell Moore, age 90, of Bristol, TN passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Broadmore Assisted Living. He will be missed by his friends at Bojangles’s on the Volunteer Parkway. He was a member of Addilynn Memorial United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by parents, John William and Ida Belle Harr Moore; his wife Doris Jean Moore and two brothers, Lawrence and Jack Moore. He was a Jericho Shriners and a Mason. Survivors include a sister, Joyce “Joy” Wiles and husband, Mike of Blountville, TN and brother, Ralph Moore and wife Shirley of Kingsport, TN; sister-in-law, Helen Thomas; nieces and nephews, Donna Thomas Ostermeyer, Mitch Moore (Donna), Karen Rhymer (Butch), Susan Wiles, Doug Cross (Debbie), Kathy Moore and Michelle Phillips. The family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers at Broadmore Assisted Living. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, February 18, 2018 in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Elizabeth Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyler Cross, Bobby Eller, Butch Rhymer, Harry Elsea and Bill Crusenberry. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Horn, Roger Trinkle, Dr. John Green, Sam Sneed and the men of Addilynn Memorial United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 3:00 P.M., Sunday prior to the service.
