Dorris Adelia Thomas went home to her Lord and beloved husband and daughter Monday, October 16, 2017 at NHC in Knoxville, TN. She was born December 10, 1923 to Curtis S. Malcolm and LucyTreadway Malcolm. She married James C. Thomas on July 12, 1945 and they lived in the Holston Valley community and were members of the Cold Spring Presbyterian Church. Jim and Dorris were avid fans of University of Tennessee sports and enjoyed traveling to Knoxville to attend home games. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; her daughter, Cindy; her sisters, Evelyn Marie ‘Sis” Peterson and Alma Louise Pope Miller and brother, Curtis Jackson Malcolm and their spouses. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank the care givers at NHC in Knoxville for their help and support and Dorris’ niece Susan Pope Rochelle, who cared for and visited Dorris every day she lived in Knoxville. There will be a graveside service 12:30 pm Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Cold Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor Douglas LaPointe officiating.
