J.D. Weaver

J.D. Weaver, age 94, of Bluff City, TN passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Cornerstone Village, Johnson City, TN. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and would help anyone if asked and loved to farm. He was a faithful member of Oakdale Freewill Baptist Church. J.D. enjoyed his time volunteering at Kingsway Charities. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Taylor and Laura Bell Smith Weaver; his wife, Mabel Ruth Beck Weaver. Survivors include his son, Roger Weaver and wife, Kim of Bluff City, TN; sister, Dorothy Klingensmith; two grandsons, Bobby Weaver and wife, Hannah and Josh Manis and wife, Jessica; one great-granddaughter, Bryleigh Hope Manis and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Cornerstone Village for their wonderful care of Mr. Weaver. The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M., Saturday, May 5, 2018 in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Rogers and Brother Troy Davis officiating. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Sunday in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M., Saturday prior to the service.
