Jennie Mae White Widner

Jennie Mae White Widner, age 83, of Bluff City, TN passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Sullivan County, TN and worked for K-Mart for 23 years, retiring in June 1996. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Bertie King White; her husband, Maland Widner; sister, Shirley Ann Crowder and brother, Arthur White. She was a member of Throne of Grace Baptist Church for 38 years. Survivors include one son, Dennis Wayne Widener and wife, Susan of Bluff City, TN; three brothers, Donald White of Oswego, NY; Ralph White and wife, Theda of Greenville, SC and Glenn White and wife, Eleanor of Bristol, TN; two grandchildren, Meg Widener and Corey Widener; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Monday, June 19, 2017 in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randall Shaffer and Rev. Danny Felty officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy White, Teddy White, Jackie Honaker, Danny Lewis, Jay Brown, Adam Brown, Wayne King and Alan King. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Smith, Mike Lewis, Billy Leonard, Jim Randolph, Harold Jackson, Rick White and Don Grizzle. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M., Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
