James Franklin (Frank) Byington,Sr.
James Franklin (Frank) Byington, Sr. James Franklin (Frank) Byington, Sr., age 80, of Bristol, VA,passed away, Thursday, February 11, 2010, in Bristol Regional MedicalCenter.
Mr. Byington was a proud veteran of the Korean War having served two years in Okinawa in the 22nd Artillery Division. He was a lifelongmember of Three Springs United Methodist Church. He was a kind and gentleman who loved his family and enjoyed the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward Lee Byington, Sr.and Leta Virginia Byington, his brother Elvin Byington, and son-in-law SteveWilliams.
Mr. Byington is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lois Lorene Byington. Daughters, Teresa Williams of Bristol, VA, Rev. Jackie Strickler(Tim) of Kingsport, TN, and son James (Jim) Franklin Byington, Jr. (Jamie) of Kingsport, TN. Three brothers, E. L. Byington, Jr., (Ruth) of Bristol, VA,Joe R. Byington (Sandra) of Bristol, and Wayne Byington (Mildred) of Blountville, TN. Five grandchildren, Stephen Williams, Jr., AngelaWilliams, T. J. Strickler, Ethan Byington, and Emma Byington and serveral nieces and nephews.
The family would like to expressspecial thanks to Dr. John Green, his caring Staff and Emory Hale.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, February 14, 2010, in Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Jackie Strickler officiating, with Teresa Williams and Jim Byington assisting. Honorarypallbearers will be Stephen Williams, Jr., T. J. Strickler, Ethan Byington,E. L. Byington, Jr., Joe R. Byington, Wayne Byington, and Harold Rhea.Visitation will follow the service.
