Margaret Nell Griffith, age 95, of Bluff City, TN passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at her home.

She was an elementary school teacher and taught for over thirty years at Bluff City Elementary School. She touched the lives of many young students during her long career, guiding her charges with a firm hand and a soft heart. She was also a lifelong member of Bluff City Methodist Church.

Her husband, Robert H. Griffith, Jr. preceded her in death in 1978 and they had no children but are survived by many family members. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Deese and Virginia Giesler Fleenor.

Survivors include one nephew, Earl Griffith and wife, Ann; three first cousins, Martha Greene and husband, Jack; Leah Greene; Mary Don Carrier; several great-nieces and nephews; several great-great nieces and nephews and great great-great nieces and nephews and several other cousins.

The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, February 20, 2010 in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Adams officiating. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Sunday in Morning View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M., Saturday prior to the service at Akard Funeral Home.
