Willie May Ashbrook, 84, of 14078 Bordwine Rd. Bristol, VA went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 19, 2010.

She was born June 2, 1925 in Milburn, WV and was the daughter of Ezra and Ollie Salyers Marshall. She was preceded in death by
her husband W.G. "Bill" Ashbrook; her daughter, Patricia Ann "Pat" Howard and her son, Earl Winton "Billy" Ashbrook.

Mrs. Ashbrook was an in home child care provider . She provided care to over 200 children during a 35 year career. She was a member of Bell-Walsh Chapter 65 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sisters, Lorrine Combs of Northeast, MD and Corrine Goodyear of Ekton, MD; one brother, Junior "Riley" Marshall of South Carolina; three grandsons, Jonathan Howard of Clovis, NM; Ronald E. Howard II of Ashland City, TN and William Howard of Bristol, VA; and two great-granddaughters; Brittney Howard and Amanda Howard, both of Clovis, NM and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Shriners' Hospitals, c/o Jericho Shrine Center 1100 Jericho Drive P.O. Box 5548 Kingsport, Tennessee 37663.

The funeral services will be Monday, February 22, 2010 at 2:30 at Akard Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery with Rev. Walter Statzer and Rev. Jack Sprinkle officiating. Pallbearers will be Ronald E. Howard, Don Atwell, Marvin Miller, Doug Harr, Ray Hickman and Trevor Hickman. The family will receive friends from 5:00 Till 7:00 P.M., Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Akard Funeral Home
