Lula Rutter Dowell Morrison, age 79, of Bristol, TN went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife, step-mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Charmie Mumpower Rutter and her sisters and brothers.

Survivors include her husband, James Roy Morrison, Jr.; step-daughter, Nancy Morrison Nowak and husband, Michael of Norfolk, VA; brother-in-law, Frank Loudy; sisters-in-law, Virginia Rutter and Eula Rutter; six grandchildren; five nieces and nephews, Norman Rutter, Phil Rutter, Nancy Legg; Vicky Bailey and Priscilla Russell and many great-nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 672 Island Rd., Bristol, VA 24201; Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steele’s Rd., Bristol, TN 37620 or to a charity of one’s choice.

The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M., Friday, February 26, 2010 in Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Gary Chenoweth officiating. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M., Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
