Mack Alfred Godsey, II, age 66, of Bristol, TN passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.

He was the son of the late Jack D. and Dorothy Snyder Godsey, Sr. and a native of Bristol, living in Pensacola, Florida for many years before returning to Bristol in 1987. He was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one brother, Jack D. Godsey, Jr. and wife, Sally of Bristol, TN; one uncle, Mack A. Godsey and wife, Polly of Bristol, TN, in addition to Polly there are three other aunts, Claudine Booher and husband, Ed of Bristol, TN; Marie Mumpower and husband, Cecil of Bristol, VA and Nancy Petersen of Bristol, TN; one niece and several nephews.

Memorials may be sent to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 105 North St., Bristol, VA 24201 or Haven of Rest, 624 Anderson St., Bristol, TN 37620.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 18, 2010 in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gale Flanary officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ben Herndon, Jay Chesnutt, Joshua Wiley, Jimmy Icenhour, Johnny Icenhour and Leroy Icenhour. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M., Thursday, prior to the service.
