Jimmy Richard Rock, age 70, of Blountville, TN passed away Monday, March 15, 2010 at his home.

He was the son of the late Richard J. and Mary Gladys Leonard Rock.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and was retired from the banking industry after 40+ years of service. He was a member of Bradley Street Baptist Church.

He had a tremendous love for people and his two dogs, Ms. Beave and Doodle Bug. He was a loving brother and friend.

Survivors include his partner, Buddy Reece and two sisters, Patty Rock Fleenor and Linda Rock both of Bristol, VA; two special aunts, Margie Whicker and Margaret Leonard and several cousins.

The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, March 18, 2010 in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alan Moor officiating. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday in Tri- Cities Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Randy Denton, Brian Lewis, Chris Parks, Micah Parks, A.D. Jones, Paul Darnell, Greg Darnell and Odas Watson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sharon Farmer, Randy Cadle, E.L. Byington, Jr., Kate Bradford and Jake Jenkins. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M., Thursday prior to the service.
