Geneva Viers James, age 82, passed away Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010.

She was born on February 18, 1928 in Buchanan County, VA to the late Charlie M. and Elizabeth Viers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Ford James, Jr. Mrs. James was the former owner of Tri-City Monument Company and a member of First Free Will Baptist Church.

She leaves behind her daughter, Debbie Ann Burbank and her husband, Richard of Bristol, VA; her son, Ernie Lee Viers and his wife, Linda of Greensboro, NC; a grandson, Derek Devon Phillips of Abingdon, VA; great-grandson, Dylan Devon Phillips and a sister, Mae Bird of Bristol, VA.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 A.M., Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Pickle officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 11:30 A.M., Wednesday prior to the service at Akard Funeral Home.
