Mary Alice Clark Clifton, age 65, of Bristol, VA went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 13, 2010 in Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was a native of Washington County, VA and a retired cafeteria worker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sommers and Ruth Hall, her first husband and father of her children, Franklin Clark.

She was a member of Charity Baptist Church,.

Survivors include her husband, Maynard W. Clifton; two daughters, Diane Hall and husband, Chris and Shelia Geiger and husband, Paul; one step-daughter, Elizabeth Guinn and husband, Darrell; two step-sons, David W. Clifton and Thomas A. Clifton and wife, Tralana; five sisters, seven brothers; two grandson; Christopher Hurd and Matthew Geiger; several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family to help with funeral expenses in care of Maynard W. Clifton, 10114 Trading Post Lane, Bristol, VA 24202.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 16, 2010 in Mountain View Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Eddie Crusenberry officiating. Entombment will be in Mountain View Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Thursday at Akard Funeral Home.
