Mrs. Pauline Rogers Carr, 91, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010, in Holston Manor, Kingsport, TN.

Mrs. Carr was born on February 3, 1919. Her parents were the late W. A. Rogers and Janie Frazier Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her husband of almost 72 years, Clarence Wilson Carr.

Mrs. Carr was a lifelong member of Blountville Christian Church, formerly playing the piano, and was very active in her early years. She was also a member of the Home Demonstration Club and a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Carr and her husband enjoyed traveling, especially visiting children and grandchildren

She is survived by her daughter Jean Lambert and husband, Russell Lambert. Two granddaughters Teresa Pratt and her husband, L. F. Pratt, and Cindy Jewell and her husband, Mike Jewell. She has five great-grandchildren, Jamie and Emily Pratt, Matthew, Luke and Sarah Jewell, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Carr’s funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Blountville Christian Church with Dwight Shaffer, Minister officiating, with Leland Houser assisitng. Committal service and burial will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 30, 2010 at East Lawn Memorial Park. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Carr, Mack Carr, Jr., Joe Carr, David Campbell, Wayne Feathers, Roger Smith, Floyd Martin, Ken Stark, David Carr, Billy Carr, Hobart Carr, and the men of the church. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:45 PM, at Blountville Christian Church prior to the service.
