Betty K. McMurray, went to be with the Lord, Friday night, May 7, 2010 at Wellmont Hospice House, after a lengthy and hard battle with her health.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved son, Terry, her parents Lewis and Nina Kent, and her brother Robert.

Betty was a wonderful mother to her son as well as to her brothers and sister. She was a very generous giver and caring person to all who knew her.

Betty is survived by three brothers Gene and wife Brenda, and James all of Bristol, and Paul and wife Betty of Coeburn, VA. She is also survived by four sisters Reva and husband Harold, Mary Lou and husband George, Debbie and husband Russell all of Bristol, and Joyce and husband Wesley of Kingsport. She had several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two special friends Joyce McMurray and Joan Campbell.


Memorials may be sent to Grace Baptist Church, 1212 Rhode Island Ave. Bristol, VA 24201 or to Wellmont Hospice, Bristol, in lieu of flowers.

Betty will surely be missed very much by her family and friends as well as the wonderful nurses and staff at Wellmont Hospice. A special thanks is given to her physician Dr. Grunstra, and her sisters who also took such wonderful care of her.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 10, 2010 in Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum, and laid to rest there following her service, with Rev. Dennis Burnette and Pastor Robert Howard officiating.
