Kenyon A. Staubus, age 81, of Bristol, TN passed away Monday, May 10, 2010 at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.

He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, TN and the son of the late W.R. “Bill” Staubus and Mae Shankle Staubus Jones. He was also preceded in death by a son, Kenyon Sims Staubus; two sisters and two brothers.

He was retired from Bristol Metals as a plant manager with 45 years of service. He was an assistant scout leader with the Boy Scouts of America and a cub master with the Cub Scouts of America. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where he was active in the United Methodist Men and a Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include his wife, Iva Sims Staubus; two sons, Barry Staubus and wife, Gena and Brett Staubus and wife, Diane, all of Bristol, TN; four sisters, Chassie VanPool and Irene Barr, both of Bristol, VA; Sue White and Peggy Wade, both of Bristol, TN; two granddaughters and two grandsons, Christa Taylor, Michael Eaton, Alexis Raye Staubus and Preston Staubus, all of Bristol, TN; two great-granddaughters, Michala Carty and McKinsey Taylor, both of Bristol, TN and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 136 High Ridge St., Bristol, TN 37620.

The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Gott officiating. The committal service and interment will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday at Bailey Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Eaton, Chris Taylor, Jimmy Wright, William Staubus, Milton Staubus, Jr., Cecil Morris, Chris Marshall, Doug Sims and David Sims. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M., Wednesday prior to the service at Aldersgate United Methodist Church and any time at the home.
