Herbert J. “Herbie” Fleenor, 86, of Blountville, TN went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Benhams to the late Sidney and Pearl FLeenor. He was retired from Bristol Memorial Hospital and was a self-employed farmer. He attended Valley View Free Will Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Lucille Fleenor in 2001.

He was a wonderful Christian, loving father, grandfather and an inspiration to all.

Survivors include five daughters, Frances Tate of Blountville, TN; Shirley Miller of Blountville, TN; Shelby Linebaugh of Kingsport, TN; Brenda McCloud and husband, James of Kingsport, TN; Patty Fleenor of Blountville, TN; seven sons, Kenneth Fleenor and wife, Joyce; John Fleenor and wife, Helen; James Fleenor and wife, Cindy; Ray Fleenor and wife, Ann; Bill Fleenor and wife, Shirley; Randall Fleenor and wife, Marie and Roger Fleenor and wife, Alisa, all of Blountville, TN ; one brother, Eugene Fleenor of Bristol; Sixty grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff of 3rd and 4th Floor of Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center for their care during our father’s illness.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 9, 2010 in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rodney Deyton and Evangelist Chris Salley officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery, Blountville, TN. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Thursday at Akard Funeral Home.
