James E. “Jim” Grogan, 55, of Piney Flats, TN passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, July 13, 2010.

He was born in Tucson, AZ and a lifelong resident of the Bristol VA/TN area. He attended Piney Flats First Baptist Church. He was a member of Tri-Cities Chapter Harley Owners Group (HOG) and the Black Wolf Chapter Harley Owners Group (HOG). His favorite pastimes were riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Pattie Goodson Grogan and two daughters; Jessica Poston of Richmond, VA and Victoria Nicole Grogan of Piney Flats, TN.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, July 18, 2010 in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Allen Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Eastern Heights Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Saturday at Akard Funeral Home.
