Barbara Jane Fiala Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barbara Jane Fiala, age 83, of Bristol, TN died peacefully on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Wellmont Hospice House. Barbara was a devoted nurse who committed many years to health services including many years with Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She was a faithful member of St Anne’s Catholic Church. Her passion for service led to years as an active participant with Faith in Action and many church committees. She particularly loved to volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She was the daughter of the late Michael Peter and Mildred Kiernan Thomas, and predeceased by two of her children, Cindy Burch and Chuck Fiala. Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Jim Fiala; daughter, Jean Shaffer and husband, Richard; sons, Jim Fiala and wife, Robin, Joe Fiala and wife, Lynda, Chris Fiala and wife, Allison; son-in-law, Dee Burch; grandchildren, Amie, Alicia, Samantha, Mary, Jamison, Martha, Meredith, Nate, Avery and Colin James; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Jake, Wyatt, Elyse, Emmett and James. The funeral mass will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin Segerblom officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm prior to the service. The committal and inurnment for family will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church Columbarium.
