Barbara Jean Fillers

Barbara Jean Fillers, age 77, of Kingsport, TN went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She loved her flower gardens, gospel music, going to the beach and her dog Bear. She was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church and loved her church family. Along with her parents, Charles and Ada Viands Howell she was preceded in death by her first husband, Claude Vaughn, Jr. and her second husband, Herbert Ivan Fillers, Sr.; sisters, Gloria Mae Rinker and Eulah Bell Barger. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Vaughn and her husband, Gene, Natacha Ramsey and her husband, Brandon; son, Randy Vaughn; sister, Faye Stevens and husband, Johnny; brothers, Larry Howell, Autry Howell and wife, Janie; grandchildren, Erica Welch, Colt Vaughn, Brandi Duty, Dusty Duty, Jessica Peters; thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, March 9, 2021 in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Colt Vaughn officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in Church Hill Memory Gardens. Family members will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm prior to the service.
