Carol (Carolyn) Chapman Mann

August 31, 1947 - May 22, 2018

If Roses grow in Heaven Lord, please pick a bunch for us. Place them in our mothers arm and tell her they are from us. Tell her that we love her and miss her and when she turns to smile place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while. Because remembering her is easy, we do it every day but there is an ache within our heart that will never go away. Carol went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the age of 70. She was a native of Sullivan County and the daughter of the late Bill and Grace Chapman. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Landan Mann; seven sisters, Edna Krtausch, Louise Oliver, Shirley Shepard, Jean Harr, Willie Jo Montgomery, Frieda Woods and Evie Chapman and two brothers, Ronnie Chapman and Buddy Chapman. Survivors include her four daughters, Debbie Joyner and husband, Codey of Holiday, FL; Donna Thomas and Curtis Eskridge of Bristol, VA; Victoria McMillian of Bristol, TN and Caroline Mann Bristol, VA; three sons, Russ Sakellar of Bristol, TN; Mike Sakellar of Bristol, VA; Joe Sakellar of Bristol, VA; one sister, Patsy Mink and husband, Jimmy of Blountville, TN; two brothers, Mike Chapman and wife, Kathy of Gray, TN and Bill Chapman and wife, Revonda of Pigeon Forge, TN; sixteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many adopted great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thank you for all the help thought this trying time, Ron Rasnake, John Davis, Tammy Bible, Deb Norton, Miquella Peters, Susie Tedder, Scarlet Cumbow and Erica Arnold. They would also like to recognized Dr. Patel, Dr. Patrick, Dr. Mann, all the nurses and PCTs that gave her excellent care at Bristol Reginal Medical Center. After 20 years of service, Carol retired from Chic Wig as the general manager. She loved to sing, whether it be singing to her children or grandchildren or going to karaoke, which she loved to do. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7: 00 P.M., Saturday prior to the service. The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M., Saturday, May 26, 2018 in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Mink officiating with special guest speaker, Deanna Rhea.
