Frances Ellen Louise Baer Reich

Frances Ellen Louise Baer Reich, age 96 years known to many as ‘Aunt Nance’ departed life on earth March 11, 2022. Nance was born December 30, 1925 in Bristol, TN to the late Grover Cleveland Baer and Willie Mae Mumpower Baer. She was a graduate of Tennessee High School. She was an avid fan of the 1950 Bristol Twins AAA baseball team and of ‘Bobby’ Reich, a Twins star pitcher. They moved to Bristol, VA in 1963 and raised 2 children, Barbara and Steve. Nance was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Reich. Nance and Bob were married 60 years. She was also preceded in death by brothers Ted, Jack, Doug, and Louis, and by sisters Anna Cross and Fannie Belle Hunsucker. Frances/Nance worked as a bookkeeper at the family-owned Blevins Tire Company for 45 years. She enjoyed gardening, planting and caring for all of her beautiful flower gardens, watching all sorts of sports on tv and taking special beach trips to Daytona. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Reich and son, Steve Reich, and Steve’s fiancé Shamar Jones as well as several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Sunday in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M., Sunday prior to the service.
