Gloria Pippin Legg, age 91, of Bristol, TN passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 in Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Bristol, TN and had lived in Lynchburg, VA from 1951 – 1966 before returning to Bristol. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Margie Booher Pippin; her husband, Melvin Legg; sister, Betty Almany and brother, Carl Pippin, Jr. Survivors include two daughters, Lynda Legg Barbieri and husband, Lee of Elon, NC and Lisa Altizer of Bristol, TN; son, James Allen Legg and wife, Elizabeth of Kennesaw, GA; six grandchildren, Michael Barbieri and wife, Anna, Kristi Sharrett and husband, Steve, Matt Barbieri and wife, Karen, Summer Nicole Le Blanc and husband, Blake, Rebekah Johnson and husband, Wes and Amanda Belote and husband, Matt; , ten great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 P.M., Sunday, June 23, 2019 in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Smith officiating. Entombment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be her family. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 P.M., Sunday prior to the service.
