Janice Kathleen McGhee Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Janice Kathleen McGhee, age 75, of Bristol, VA was called home, by God, on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Johnson City Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Washington County, VA to the late Henry Earl and Geneva Forrester Miller. She was a dedicated employee of Mountain View Cemetery for over 35 years where she loved talking and helping people. She was an independent thinker, goal-oriented, and loved life fully. Jan was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Jan loved spending time with her granddaughter which made her young at heart. She loved going out to nice restaurants, talking and shopping, with her family and friends. She was preceded in by her parents, her husband, Bob McGhee; twin sister, Janet Arnold, and sisters, Betty Johnson and Tammie Gates. Jan will be remembered for her love of life, laughter, and a little bit of gossip…. Just a little bit. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Gentry; granddaughter, Leslie Gentry; brother, Gary Miller; son-in-law, Larry Gentry, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Mountain View Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Austin Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 P.M., Saturday prior to the service at the mausoleum.
