John Edgar Lewis

John Edgar “John Ed” Lewis, 75, of Bristol, Tennessee, passed away Sunday January 31, 2021 at Carrington Place, Rural Retreat, Virginia, after a long struggle with failing health. He was born October 8, 1945, in Bristol, VA. He attended Tennessee High School and Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN. He is proceeded in death by this parents William Rowe and Amos Lee Hall Lewis and brother William Preston Lewis. Maternal grandparents Edgar and Lola Hawk Hall, paternal grandparents John Emmitt and Amanda Carolina Fraker Lewis. He is survived by first cousins Thomas Miller Cross, Jr. of Blountville, TN; Lillian Cross Lyle of Marietta, GA; Martha Cross McFall of Enterprise, AL; Joe Doris Clayton Northam of Kingsport, TN; Julia Lewis Compton, Margaret Lewis Thornton, and Virginia Lewis Street all of Morristown, TN; Katherine Lewis of Charlotte, NC and Mary Lewis of Knoxville, TN. The family would like to thank the staff at Carrington Place of Rural Retreat, VA, for their compassionate care and love for John Ed.
