Kathleen Adair Swain

Kathleen Adair Buck Swain passed away on Friday September 20, 2015 after an extended illness. Kathy was born December 18, 1947 in Wilmington, Delaware. She was the daughter of the late Shelburne and Edith Buck of Bristol, Virginia, and is survived by her sister Lillie Buck and many cousins. Kathy attended Virginia High School and was a 1971 graduate of Virginia Tech. She did graduate work at The College of William and Mary. She taught school in Georgia, and worked for many years as a social worker in Texas and Virginia. She was married to Bobby Swain from 1969 to 1979. A member of Three Springs United Methodist church, Kathy loved to travel and enjoyed reading and art. For many years she bred and raised Arabian horses, and loved both dogs and cats. She was a fun person to be around and found great joy in the beauty of God’s creation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday November 29, 2015 in the sanctuary of Three Springs United Methodist Church, 6610 Reedy Creek Road, Bristol, Virginia 24202.
