Mary Elizabeth Hall Holden, age 95, Passed away on June 7, 2022. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Emmett and Virginia Clark Hall; brother, William Hall; and husband, Orville ”John” Holden. She is survived by a daughter, Mollie Elizabeth Holden, Albany, GA. Elizabeth was a retired teacher from Sullivan County Schools, Holston Valley High School, and Valley Pike Elementary School. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Bristol, VA. The family will receive friends Friday, June 10, at Akard Funeral Home from 3:00 until 4:00 pm prior to the service starting at 4:00, with Dr. Kris Aaron officiating. Interment will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 11, at Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Senior Adult Fund of First Baptist Church, 125 Sedgefield St., Bristol, VA 24201 Akard Funeral Home, 1912 W. Ms Holden was my English teacher at Holston Valley
High school. She was one of my favorite teachers.
She and I use to talk about motorcycle riding. She loved it and so did I. RIP Ms Holden. You will be missed by many. Marilyn Goforth Hagy.

Altho hardly older than us students she was humorous, tolerant and strict. She could keep it interesting and on track and she could laugh with us but not at us. We loved her from day one and she was our class sponsor for all four years . my brother aNd I visited her about 3 years ago. It was like no time had passed. she was as energetic and delightful as 70 years ago
