Rosamond Reames Rosenbaum Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

GLADE SPRING, Va. --- Rosamond Reames Rosenbaum, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 23, 2021. She was born on Sept. 9, 1925 to the late William Thomas Reames and Rachel Clark Reames at her homeplace in Glade Spring. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Rosenbaum. She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church in Chilhowie, Virginia, a congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Rosamond was a1946 graduate of Radford University, majoring in business education. She held several secretarial positions, including one for a veteran’s administration center established after World War II at Emory & Henry College. She later was a secretary at Emory & Henry College. Her career path led her to teaching at the former Meadowview High School and later at Patrick Henry High School in Glade Spring. She enjoyed artwork for most of her life, becoming locally known for her oil paintings of roses. She was fondly called Grandma Rose by her grandchildren. She loved, above all things, God and her family and this was exemplified every day in the way she lived her life. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou Bevins of Glade Spring (Alan) and Carolyn Wilson of Glade Spring (Mike); grandchildren, Ashley Hortenstine, David Bevins, Katie Green, Amy Wilson and Rebecca Wilson; and great-grandchildren, Fisher Hortenstine, Cora Lynn Bevins and Adeline Reese Green. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation and gratitude to her live-in caregiver Rhonda Neisner for her devoted care, kindness and compassion shown during the past three years. Other caregivers include Lisa Perrigan, Sandy Shupe, and Miranda Hughes. Observing Covid restrictions, a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 28 at Old Glade Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Hank Belfield officiating.
