Margaret Susan Bonham passed away Sunday evening, October 14, 2018, after a brief illness. She was much loved by her community in Bristol and Central Presbyterian Church. Margaret graduated from Virginia High School, University of Georgia and earned a Master of Social Work. She lived in Atlanta and worked in many fields and after moving back to Bristol she was the director of Apple Academy at Central. She honed her craft as a social justice warrior as an intern at the Highlander Center in New Market Tennessee, and worked at the Bristol Va. Department of Social Services. She is survived by her sisters Anna Bonham-White, Virginia Vance Bonham, and Julia Bonham Adair, brothers in-law Tom Adair, and Scott White, niece Amelia Adair, nephew William Adair, cousins Robert P. Bonham, III, (partner, Kevin Scott), James G. Bonham (wife, Terri Bonham), and her friends Mike and Candy Ellis and their sons John, Mark, and Todd who lovingly called her Uncle Margaret. A casual service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Central Presbyterian Church. Family will greet friends at 1:00 p.m. There will be a wake following the service at State Line, 644 State Street. Come share stories, laughter, and joy.
